[Oiço] Sia - Chandelier

por Carla B., em 16.05.16

Anda a tocar outra música desta artista nas rádios mas é esta que não me tem saído da cabeça nos últimos tempos.

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier

I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist

Like it doesn't exist

I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night

feel my tears as they dry

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier

But I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down, won't open my eyes

Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight

Help me, I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down, won't open my eyes

Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight

On for tonight

[Desafiam] Bout of Books 16 - Day 7 and Wrap-up

por Carla B., em 16.05.16

Bout of Books

Day 7

  • Time devoted to reading: 3h28!
  • Pages read: 99 pages of the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
  • Notes: This time I read so I wouldn't be stressed because of the Portuguese football (as in soccer) championship. Couldn't watch Benfica's last game because of my nerves so I spent the afternoon reading. It was worth it and Benfica won!
  • Challenge: No challenge -- it's a free day!

Wrap-up

  • Total of time devoted to reading: 10h18!
  • Total pages read: 318 pages of the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
  • Books finished: None.
  • Goals: Accomplished! I managed to read everyday, up until sleep got over me, and participated in 4 challenges, 2 more than I had planned! It was a great Bout of Books for me, even if I didn't managed to finish a book.

[Desafiam] Bout of Books 16 - Day 6

Bout of Books

  • Time devoted to reading: about 1h20
  • Pages read: 36 pages of the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
  • Notes: A headache prevented me from reading more.
  • Challenge: Share Your Favorite Bout of Books Moment. I didn't participate but I guess my favorite moment is reaching my goals! This was my 3rd time participating and even if I'm not an overachiever nor do I commit to many goals, it pushes me to read more than I usually do.

[Desafiam] Bout of Books 16 - Day 5

por Carla B., em 14.05.16

Bout of Books

  • Time devoted to reading: 1h15
  • Pages read: 37 pages of the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
  • Notes: Again, read before sleeping. It's really the only time I manage to carve on my day to read something not related to work.
  • Challenge: Freaky Friday Photo Challenge. I didn't participate in this one.

[Desafiam] Bout of Books 16 - Day 4

por Carla B., em 13.05.16

Bout of Books

  • Time devoted to reading: about 2 hours.
  • Pages read: 56 pages of the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
  • Notes: About half of that reading time was due to waking up in the middle of the night and having trouble getting back to sleep. After 30 minutes of tossing and turning I just picked up a book and started reading. The rest of the reading time was done after dinner, but since I hadn't sleep well the night before I fell asleep earlier than usual.
  • Challenge: If You Like This, Try This. I shared my recommendation.

[Desafiam] Bout of Books 16 - Day 3

Bout of Books

  • Time devoted to reading: 40 minutes.
  • Pages read: 20 pages of the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
  • Notes: Only read before going to sleep. Tried to keep my eyes open but sleep won me over.
  • Challenge: 5 Favorites. I shared my 5 favorite book beginnings.

[Desafiam] Bout of Books 16 - Day 1

por Carla B., em 10.05.16

Bout of Books

  • Time devoted to reading: about 1 hour.
  • Pages read: 30 pages from the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
  • Notes: I started reading at midnight, to really kick off this read-a-thon, and only read for about one hour. The day was then spent working and the evening watching and reading reviews on the latest "Game of Thrones" episode.
  • Challenge: Introduce Yourself #insixwords. And here is the link to my introduction.

[Desafiam] Bout of Books 16 - Sign-up and goals post

por Carla B., em 08.05.16

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 9th and runs through Sunday, May 15th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 16 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Ok, I wasn't thinking on participating in the bout of books in an official manner, but then failure is already guaranteed so I might as well have fun.

Goals:

  • read everyday,
  • participate in at least two challenges.

I will be happy if I finish the book I just started, the Portuguese translation of North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, but I just really want to pick up and read everyday, even if only a page. Also, I already read the English version but it's the first time it was translated into Portuguese and I really miss the story and the characters so it will be nice to re-read it.

~*~
